I am a Colorado native, and I have a passion for caring for the women of this community. I grew up in Littleton and attended both CU and CSU to complete my masters in midwifery and a Doctor of Nursing practice. I have 15 years of experience in full scope midwifery practicing in the Denver area.
I am thrilled to join the staff of South Denver Ob/Gyn and Midwives. I believe that one of the most important responsibilities of my job as a midwife is to empower women to participate in decision making about their own health. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach; I trust women to make the best decisions for themselves based upon the information available. Pregnancy and childbirth are transformative experiences and I wish for all women to feel emboldened by the experience and never to feel violated. Childbirth can be unpredictable, but no matter how it turns out I want women to feel respected and never have any misgivings about their experience.
Not only am I an expert in caring for pregnant women but for all women across the age spectrum. I take pride in helping young women access the well woman care they deserve and encouraging them to take an active role in family planning. I also have special training in caring for women with opiate addiction and medication assisted therapy.
I look forward to getting to know the women of South Denver.
