Nedjet Fenix

Nedjet “Indie” Fenix takes the Latin translation of “midwife” to heart when caring for her patients. To be “with woman”, as the translation states, means to accompany her patients through all phases of life emotionally, physically, and spiritually. She has a passion for improving maternal and neonatal health while believing in the power of midwifery and shared decision-
making to improve outcomes and empower women to discover the resiliency within them.

With her multicultural background, Nedjet has supported women and their families all over Europe and the US. Her experience as an Air Force medic, linguistic fluency in four languages, and the dynamic drive to stay up to date with the latest evidence-based practices, have allowed her to facilitate critical situations. Dr. Fenix has experienced maternal and neonatal care from the perspective of a mother, a doula, a labor and delivery nurse, and through the lens of her camera. She graduated with three Associate degrees in Allied Health Sciences, Humanities, and Nursing respectively, and two bachelor’s degrees in organizational leadership and nursing from the
University of Phoenix. She also holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Midwifery from Baylor University. She is board-certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is also a professional member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

In her spare time, Indie enjoys spending time with her children and her horse Barbie. She also appreciates hiking and traveling all over the world with her backpack after visiting her hometown in Cordenons, Italy.
